When should I use this form?
When you are seeking information or documents from the Council that are not publicly available.

Please note that if you are seeking information about a property, you should use the following property file request process

If you are requesting a LIM (Land Information Memorandum) then go to the LIMS page.

How long will it take?
You will receive an automatic acknowledgement as soon as your request is lodged. We are required by the LGOIMA legislation to respond to your request within 20 working days. If the request is for a large quantity of information or requires consultation, and meeting the original time limit is not possible, the Act allows for an extension of the time limit. We will let you know if this is the case before the original due date.

How much will it cost?
Most responses do not incur a charge – however we may charge if responding will take a significant amount of staff time. You will be informed of any charge prior to the work being completed and will be given the opportunity to refine the scope of your request. See fees and charges.

Why would we withhold information?
There may be reasons why the Council has to withhold information requested. For example, it could contain private or commercially sensitive material. If we do we will explain why we withheld information and in certain circumstance we may be able to provide a summary of the information withheld.

Not satisfied?
If you are not satisfied with the information you receive following a request under LGOIMA, you can complain to the Office of the Ombudsman.
